To the 120th anniversary of the birth of Anatoly Kaplan
The exhibition from the private collection of the Kushnir family and the collection of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg presents about 160 lithographs and drawings by Anatoly Kaplan (1903-1980) representing the city of Leningrad, which survived the war and blockade.
It is one of the best examples of fine art dedicated tо the city on the Neva.
The exhibition also displays pencil drawings with views of the city, which are preserved in the artist's notebooks.
After the victorious completion of Operation Iskra, an architectural competition was announced for the creation of a project for a monument dedicated to breaking the blockade of Leningrad. At the exhibition features sketches of monuments created by architects Alexander Vasiliev, Kirill Johansen, Yakov Lukin and Marianna Taranovskaya and others.
The exposition will also show letters, leaflets, works of art that tell about the public perception of the epoch-making events for the besieged Leningrad in January 1943. Of particular note are the paintings and graphic works of Konstantin Dorokhov, depicting Leningrad and Shlisselburg on January 18, 1943, drawings by Gavriil Malysh and Vasily Vlasov, sketches of posters by Modest Shepilevsky dedicated to breaking the blockade
The exhibition is dedicated to the beautiful and serene time of the year, when not only children, but also adults are waiting for miracles and begin to believe in a fairy tale.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see New Year and Christmas cards, easel and book graphics by Viktor Kobzev, Nina Kazimova, Sergei Garezin, Leonid Stroganov, Lyudmila Kotelnikova, Evgeny Blyumkin, Tatyana Tsareva, Pavel Pichugin, Tamara Romanova, Viktor Guzenyuk and Arina Ponomareva.
The exhibition tells about St. Petersburg Christmas and New Year celebrations, how they prepared for the holidays, what winter chores and entertainment marked the life of St. Petersburg residents. It will remind you of noisy balls, street festivities and rolling mountains on the Neva, skating at the Academy of Arts and horse races on the ice of the Neva, of winter roads laid across the frozen Neva, and dashing sleigh rides along icy canals.
The exhibition presents unique items from the collection of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg: ball gowns and fans, masquerade costumes, gift packaging for sweets and tea, greeting cards, picturesque and graphic views of the snowy city and much more related to the winter holidays in St. Petersburg .

In addition to the historical narrative about the past time, the exhibition will tell about modern technologies and methods of underwater archaeological work, allowing specialists to penetrate into the depths of time through the water.l
To the 80th anniversary of the premiere of Dmitri Shostakovich's 7th Symphony in Leningrad
The exhibition tells about the musical life of besieged Leningrad, which did not stop in the city, despite the war. Concerts that took place in the Great Hall of the Leningrad Philharmonic and at other concert and theater venues, sounded on the radio, supported the strength of the spirit of Leningraders, the will to live and faith in victory.
Particular attention is paid to the Leningrad premiere of the 7th symphony by D. D. Shostakovich, which took place on August 9, 1942, which became a musical symbol of the struggle of the besieged city with the enemy.
Presented in the exposition, concert posters, photographs of the war years, works of art, musical instruments, players, communication and warning devices from the collection of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg help to recreate a picture of the musical life of Leningrad in 1941-1945.
